Another win for the firsts (See Report). The seconds had an eventful time in their game against Ballyvea seconds, the lead changed hands several times throughout the match. The sides were deadlocked at half time 3-3, Ballyvea took the lead 15 minutes into the second period and with time running out it looked as though they would hang on. However with 10 minutes left McCommisky’s cross was caught by the wind and sailed over the keeper and into the net. With time almost up Colm Crilly grabbed an unlikely winner when his looping header again caught the swirling breeze and found it’s way into the net. McCommisky(3), C Devlin and C Crilly were the scorers and the best players on show.
The thirds unfortunately went down 4-1 at Downpatrick seconds, Rory McMullan getting their goal.
Again lads I have to remind you that a lot of players have not paid their membership, with this in mind this will most definitely be the last week that you will get a game or train without having paid your membership, so after this Saturday, no membership = no playing or training and no exceptions. Managers are reminded too that there are still one or two that haven’t paid as yet, so please set an example!
The under 17s drew 3-3 with Coney Island, Ryan White, Michael Rooney and Ruairi Greenan were the scorers with Ryan Lundy (pictured) man of the match.
An interesting story has reached me about our very own Mickey Ward but as I haven’t got all the gory details I shall wait until next week before dishing the dirt. No doubt there will be other stories to tell after our sojourn up to Ballykelly.
