Unfortunately last weekend was a total washout, leaving a lot of members looking washed out themselves at an earlier than usual hour!
Anyone wishing to go to this weeks Junior Cup match in Ballykelly please forward your name to any committee member so that we can arrange an appropriate size of bus, it should be great craic! Apparently we have all to come back in fancy dress so that should be interesting!
We have all seen it in films and comedy shows – posh hotel, person gets up in the middle of the night to answer a call of nature, takes a wrong turn, ends up out on the corridor and can only watch in horror as the door closes behind them. Our esteemed committee member Mickey was involved in such a scenario 2 weeks ago when he went down south for a golfing weekend with three of his pals. Despite banging quietly but urgently on the bedroom door for a quick re-entry his room mate Vince was out for the count and of no help. Poor Mickey who I might add was ‘Au Natural’ (and gave up all this info to me without a struggle) moved furtively down the corridor to where his other friends were staying and fortunately one was still awake and put him up for the night! I can think of some club members who would have pretended to be asleep if they had known of his predicament! Rumours that nobody was able to eat breakfast next morning are unconfirmed at present.
It seems that it wasn’t Castlewellan’s only nocturnal adventure of late with a former club member sleepwalking and causing mayhem, but I think it’s best to leave it at that.
