Knockbreda
It wasn’t to be for our lads today who put in a great shift and will feel very unlucky not to get something from the game, one which the final score certainly doesn’t reflect the balance of play.
The boys started well creating some good openings in the first half before conceding a sucker punch on the break. We continued to push forward hitting the woodwork but were punished for a mistake in defence which let Knockbreda take a 2-0 lead into the second half.
The second half was a much more even affair but we still had our chances and it just turned out to be one of those days. The visitors again punished a mistake to make it 3 midway through the half and end the contest.
Certainly a case of what if today but the game highlighted the importance of taking your chances when they fall to you, and sadly today it just wasn’t to be for the boys, although their effort certainly can’t be faulted.
We dust ourselves off now for a big league game on Thursday night away to Bloomfield as we look to maintain our 100% start to the season.
