2016 SUCCESS IN RATHFRILAND
Well done to our 2016 Town team who won the 2016 competition at the John Ingram Memorial tournament in Rathfriland yesterday.
The boys played some fantastic football across the day, topping their group before defeating Banbridge Rangers in the semi final to setup a show down final with host team Rathfriland. The two sides had drawn 0-0 in the group stages and it was the young town boys who came out by the narrowest of margins in the final, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Eanna.
The clean sheet in the final was their fifth of the day as the boys went through the tournament without conceding a goal, with Conor awarded player of the tournament for a superb shift across the day with some great defending and a couple of tidy goals, reminiscent of his aul man who popped up with many important goals for our first team over the years.
Well done to all involved and thank you to all at Rathfriland Football Club Youth for a great day.
