It was a case of déjà vu at the weekend as last years cup & shield winners returned to retain their respective trophies in the 2026 Petsy Corrigan finals day.
In the cup final, a four goal blitz in the opening 15 minutes ultimately proved to be the difference between defending champions Drumaness Mills and hosts Castlewellan, with Mills eventually running out 7-3 victors to pick up their third Corrigan Cup on the bounce.

In the opening game of the afternoon, NAFL 1A side Oliver Plunkett beat Newcastle 3-1 in a fairly even and entertaining affair. Newcastle deservedly took the lead before 3 unanswered goals from Plunkett ensured the Belfast side retained the shield.
