We’re delighted to confirm the appointment of Aidan “Trigger” Kelly and Nial “Tintin” Toner as the new management team for our reserve side, Castlewellan Forest for the 26/27 season.
Both lads bring a wealth of experience to the team having represented the club for years on the pitch, with Trigger also a former first team manager for several years, winning many trophies, and most recently the coach of our U18 team who he had two successful seasons with and no doubt will be looking to bring through a number of players from that squad.
The less said about Tintin’s single season as our first team manager the better, he boosts and excellent recent record in Football Manager and is raring to go for the new season with Aidan.
Our Forest team had a mixed season last year with the highlight being a great Bobby Dalzell Cup win, and the lads will be looking to compete for silverware once again this campaign.
Training is underway for the new season with sessions every Tuesday & Thursday at the Bann Road (7pm) and pre season friendlies arranged for 1st & 8th August before the league starts on 22nd August. The pair ask any new (and old) players who wish to play for Forest this year to get along to training and join the rest of the squad.
