The actual football takes a back seat this week as the main talking point is the horrible injury to Luke Toner. Everyone at the club wishes him well and hope he is on his feet soon. For the record the firsts were defeated 1-0 by Ardoyne WMC (see report).
The seconds had no game but the thirds won away at Dromara. The lads started slowly and were caught flat footed after 10 minutes to go a goal down. That seemed to wake them up and helped by the promptings of Darren Savage, they equalised midway through the half when Beckett scored. Dromara almost went ahead again almost immediately but brave goalkeeping from Harry McMullan kept them out. Castlewellan took control after this and two quickfire goals from ace marksman Shane Mooney saw them end the half comfortably ahead. The town controlled most of the second half and Ed Murray notched a fourth to keep the thirds in the hunt for silverware. Best for the town were Shane Mooney, Darren Savage and Harry McMullan.
