DYFL U17 League – Saintfield Utd 3 Castlewellan Town 7

The under 17s began the new season with a bang, coming out on victorious in a 10 goal thriller away to Saintfield.  The boys were always in control and played some great football throughout as they ran out comfortable 7 – 3 victors in the end.

There were good performances all around and lots for the management team of Felix Blaney and Declan Burn to be happy about and plenty of positives for the season ahead.  Goalscorers on the day were Ethan Aulds, Tiernan Noade, Christy Maguire, Eoin Mogue (2) and Eoin Travers (2).

Best for the town were Daniel Cunningham, Callum McKibbin and man of the match Eoin Travers who helped himself to 2 goals from left back.  The new Roberto Carlos?? Only time will tell.

Next up for the boys is Patrician at home this Saturday.  Kick off is 9.30am and will give the boys their first competitive game on the new pitch.  If you’ve no plans for Saturday morning, come along and show your support to the boys and watch the stars of the future in this really talented team.
