All senior club games were cancelled last week as a mark of respect to club president Paddy Corrigan following the demise of his sister in the early hours of Saturday morning. The club extends its sympathies to the family circle. The club would also like to extend it’s sympathies to the Ward family on their recent bereavement.

The golfers arrived back safe and sound from their Portugal trip although I believe they had quite an extensive cleaning bill whilst away – club managers Pampers Ward and Huggies Campbell will no doubt verify this.
Congratulations to Garrett Keaveney and his team on their fine victory last Sunday, I dare say he celebrated with a bottle of the blue stuff!

Another solid performance from the under 17s who won 3-0 with a workmanlike display against a useful Ardglass team. Castlewellans goalscorers were Micky Cunningham with his second in a week (thats your quota for the season micky) the other two were scored by Matthew Stratton and Cathal Tumilty. Best for the town were Oisin McKibbin, Joe O’Neill, Aidan Dornan and man of match Conor Gregory. As you can see I have taken a picture of Declan Gregory instead of Conor Gregory – sorry Conor will get one of you next week!
The under 15s are struggling for results at the minute and went down 3-0 to Tollymore.
The under 13s were defeated 3-1 by Saintfield. They will need to improve in several areas if they are to get anything from the season. The first Saintfield goal came after a long cross found a forward six yards from goal completely unmarked and he headed home. The town had several clear cut chances but it was centre back Keelan Burns who equalised from 20 yards just on the stroke of half time. Saintfield scored two goals in quick succession early in the second period to effectively kill the game off but still Castlewellan managed to squander a couple of very scoreable chances to get something from this game. Shooting practice required I think.
The under 11s are still the only team in the club with a 100% record following their easy 11-1 victory over Ballyvange. The Bambinos scorers were Conor Keenan(3), Ruari McGuinness(2), Adam McAleese(2), Calum McKibben, James McAleenan, Cillian McKay, and Oisin O’Toole (with his first touch). Conor Keenan (pictured) was man of the match, closely followed by Adam Garland and Adam McAleese. Nadine McAleenan also played well.
