The firsts made it two wins from two games last Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Annalong. Sorry for the lack of a report due to a misunderstanding on my behalf but by all accounts the Town should have had the game wrapped up by half time but their shooting was wayward to say the least. Shane Mooney eventually eased them ahead early in the second period and again they should have extended their lead and were perhaps fortunate that an Annalong penalty appeal fell on deaf ears late in the game. Best for Castlewellan was Donagh Steele.
It’s not often you meet someone who has saved anothers life – Zoom is such a person. Paddy Keown was heading for the changing rooms after the game last weekend when he discovered that he had lost his wedding ring, despite an extensive search of the pitch from all and sundry it was nowhere to be seen, and big Paddy was running round trying to find accomodation for the evening! Step forward Zoom who decided to go for one last look as the lads showered, lo and behold he arrived back in with the said ring to save Paddy’s bacon.
Now to someone not just so heroic, step forward ‘Hovis’ we now know who wears the trousers in that relationship! Enough said.
Committee meeting this Thursday August 23rd at 7pm in the Community Centre, basically we require the managers of all Senior and youth teams to attend to make sure that we are all singing from the same songsheet this season.
