An impressive performance from the firsts as they make it 2 from 2 to start the new campaign. The lads raced into a 3 goal lead after 10 mins with Ruairi, Conor & Caolan all finding the net. Ballynahinch to their credit dug in and credited a few chances of their own at this stage when it would have been very easy to drop the heads after the start.
Further strikes from Ruairi and Lee made it 5-0 at the break but it should have been more. A slow start to the second half saw Ballynahinch grab a goal that the boys will be disappointed to have conceded. 3 further goals were added though Ruairi for his hat trick, Daniel Bingham and Caolan who grabbed his second. The lads had more than enough chances to score more and conceded a sloppy goal just before the end which will take some shine away from an otherwise impressive team performance.
It was good to see Lee Ward on the score sheet following his return to the club. That’s both Lee & Adam up and running for the new season following their return to the club.
The games keep coming thick and fast and next up is the visit of Ballywalter to Corrigan Park this Saturday. KO 2pm.
